Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity

Building on success — ASPA 2026 heads to Hong Kong

When ASPA’s 2025 conference in Newcastle ran smoothly, the society came straight back for Hong Kong. Their sixth annual conference — 2–4 December 2026 — runs on a platform that is stronger than it was a year ago, including an automatic abstract-book generator added along the way.

About the client

Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity

The Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity brings together researchers, practitioners and policymakers to advance the science and practice of physical activity across the world’s most populous region. Founded in 2020, ASPA has quickly grown into a genuinely regional community, with members across the Asia-Pacific, six special interest groups and a thriving early-career network.

Its annual conference has become a fixture in the field — Newcastle in 2025, Hong Kong in 2026 — and the society’s open, multidisciplinary ethos makes it one of the most energetic member communities we work with.

The challenge

There is no better endorsement than a repeat request. After Newcastle 2025 ran smoothly, ASPA asked us to deliver the website for their sixth annual conference — in Hong Kong, 2–4 December 2026, hosted with Hong Kong Metropolitan University.

A second conference raises the bar rather than lowering it: an international edition, a new venue, a wider audience — and every rough edge from year one expected to be gone.

Our approach

We launched the 2026 conference website in April — abstract management, delegate registration, e-commerce and committee tools on the same Membersites conference platform, now a year stronger. Enhancements made since Newcastle, including the automatic abstract-book generator, are already at work.

It is off to a strong start: abstract submissions are open and flowing, with registration to follow. And because the platform improves between events rather than being rebuilt for each one, everything learned in Hong Kong will be waiting for the next conference too.

This is the second chapter of ASPA’s conference story — it began with the society’s first conference website, in Newcastle.

What we delivered

2026 conference website (Hong Kong), launched April 2026
Abstract management, delegate registration and e-commerce
Committee management and 12+ bespoke conference tools
Automatic abstract-book generator
Ongoing platform enhancements between events

The platform seamlessly integrates all of our society’s membership, finance, communications and conference registrations. Many tasks we used to do manually are now completely automatic — it saves us a huge amount of work and sets us up well for future growth.
